Miley Cyrus Tried To Prevent Bong Video From Getting Public

Miley Cyrus' camp already knew that the star is up for another controversy weeks before her "bong" video hit online. Apparently, they were contacted by a college student who owns a copy to discuss the tape.

According to TMZ sources, the student asked her reps shortly after Thanksgiving if they want to get his copy of the tape. Money was reportedly discussed in exchange for turning over the video.

Miley's camp then sent a man in his 40s to the student's college campus in the San Luis Obispo area, and the two exchanged laptops. The student gave the man his MacBook Pro, which contained the video, and the man gave him a new MacBook Pro in return.

Money did not get involved, though it wasn't clear why.

Her people also exchanged laptops with another student who also had a copy, but in the end, the video still ended up online on TMZ.

Meanwhile, the girl who shot the controversial footage has been getting threats from hardcore Miley fans via Twitter. Anna Oliver, one of the 18-year-old Disney star's friends, has deleted her Twitter account since.  icelebz
